Bird watching at the park

This morning I wandered down to the park at the end of the street and went looking at the pond and the plants in the light fog. There were a lot of birds around - the most exciting ones were the rainbow lorikeets (so pretty - there were about five of them, and one flew right by me, about a foot away) but there were also magpies, pigeons (hearing pigeons now makes me think of assassin's creed, lol), a diving egret type of bird, moorhens (so elegant) and of course ducks (I find the gentle quacking sounds they make very soothing, although mum reckons it's because she took me down to feed the ducks to cheer me up as a small child, and other people aren't that fond of them.)

I also ran into a neighbour and had a nice chat. It was one of life's better moments.
