A festive weekend
Mar. 27th, 2011 11:43 pmThis my sister came down to visit (♥) and she, my other sister and I went to see Cloud Control. I really enjoyed one of the support acts, Jinja Safari, who were really bouncy and fun. I did not enjoy Cloud Control as much because by then my back was really painful, and then there were a lot more people, and the sound quality was not as good, but they were still enjoyable.
Then we went to the fete at my old primary school, where I got three scarfs for $1, a sausage in bread for $2 and participated in the silent auction (in the newly and impressively renovated gym). I was very impressed with the one meter high 10kg block of cadbury milk chocolate on auction (final bid $140) and the Melbourne Victory signed ball (wrong team, but still cool; went for $210 or maybe a little more). I did bid on a year's subscription of Marketing Magazine for $25 (normally $92) and won, which was cool, and mum got a cheaper haircut. Sadly did not get $100 worth of helium balloons with my $20 bid (went for $50, and I couldn't justify it).
And then in the afternoon I went up to the Pets in the Park event at the park up the road, and saw many very happy dogs (in amazing variety, from tiny to huge) having a good time, especially at the amateur small dog racing (some were very keen, some got a little distracted on the way with all the people watching - totes adorable). There were also quite a few dachshunds which is a breed I quite like. And there were some snakes, and I got to hold a beautiful olive python (Me: :D :D :D My snake phobic sister, from a distance: :| :| :|).
