One of us, one of us:

dzurlady goes over to the dark side, or how I learned to stop worrying and enjoy the complaining.
I can't remember if I've mentioned this here or not, but I injured my back last April at work, and it's been more or less painful ever since. It was pretty good while I was on vacation (and thus not sitting around at work, which is how I injured it) but coming back to work it has been quite painful, and Wednesday was my first physio appt for the year (my physio was on holiday). So now it is super painful. /o\
So to distract myself, I was watching SBS's The World Game, which is a football (soccer) roundup show. I started watching it a few weeks ago and initially I was all, lol, what are you on about, as the hosts held forth about Very Srs Business. I was watching the sports people with amusement. But today, it went more like this:
Hosts: Srs business!
Me: Lol.
Hosts: Srs business interview!
Me: Hmm, good interview.
Hosts: Srs business!
Mum: Lol, seriously? These people talk drivel.
Me: No! They are right! Srs business!
Clearly I am succumbing.
Opinions: I have them
And if you're not careful, I may share them with you.
The nice thing about football (and probably all sports) is that it is easy to have an opinion. There are three reasons for this:
1. It doesn't take that long to learn enough about the sport to have opinions (although you can still tell the difference in people who know more than others, there is a base level that is not too hard to achieve)
2. Some things are so simple it's easy to develop an opinion about them (ie Heart, who have on multiple occasions had many shots on goal but failed to convert, clearly need more goal scorers)
3. Actual knowledge is in no way a requirement for having an opinion.
Last game this Saturday
Please come with me, seriously, the stadium alone is totes awesome.
Speaking of football, this Saturday is the last Heart game of the season, at AAMI park. Anyone want to come? I will buy you a ticket, if cost is an issue. It will be good times, you can laugh at me desperately twisting my scarf into knots.
Sports fandom turns out to have free cons!
Holy shit, made of win!
Even better, Sunday is the club's family fun day, and I can get things signed by the players, and they will all be there and play a free match against one of the Victorian state teams, and there is a free sausage sizzle, and perhaps a talk as well. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D <---SUPER HAPPY.
The one thing that makes me sad is that I know no other Heart fans to go with. D: <- slightly sad.
